BARCIK produces two Photo feature series

BARCIK has recently produced two photo stories based on climate change impacts and adaptation and mitigation initiative of the grassroots people in Bangladesh. The first series of photo feature titled “Climate Crisis: Story of life, Story of Survivors” was brought out in July, 2011. The theme of the publication was based on Salinity in Coastal area & people’s initiative to combat adversities, Hilly sand in the border belt area and local water management system called BER.

MISEREOR, a Germany based donor agency provided financial assistance for conducting research and bringing out the publication.

On the other hand, the second series of the photo stories titled “Climate crisis and community resilience: Local Solution of Global Problem” was brought out in December, 2011. The theme was based on the local initiative of grassroots people to combat adversities caused due to climate change.

The story of people of Koyra, Khulna, Madyanagar of Sunamgonj, Nachole of Chapainawabgonj and Basudebpur of Gopalgonj, their wounds and woes as well as their initiative to make them survived was depicted in this series using inert images.

Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC) provided financial support to conduct field research and publish this photo feature.
