Asma Begum Now is happy with her family

Asma Begum is the example of success story of Baira village under Singair sub-district. She has two kids. It is through her hard work and mental strength that helps her to overcome her problems. Asma begum today earns 6 thousand per month and can support her family with the income including bearing the educational expenses of her kids.

However, two years ago Asma Begum endure lot of hardship to maintain her family expenses with the small income her husband earned. In order to overcome her hardship and help her husband to bring economic solvency in their family she got admitted to tailoring training being facilitated by BARCIK and supported by Baira farmer’s organization in which she is a member. With the support and facilitation of BARCIK Asma Begum received the training from the department of youth development in Singair in 2015.

After the completion of the training Asma Begum tried to replicate the learning and took order from her neighbor. Her good work and skills spread among the communities and many of them come to her to get their cloths and other suits sewed. Her hard work and willingness to do something for her family has paid off today. She does not need to be worried about her children edcucational expenses or need to depend on her husband for purchasing materials for household use. The income she earns per month has helped us to become dependent and get confident on her skills and experiences.

Asma Begum has already bought showcase, refrigerator, dressing table, and still box with the cash she earns. She said, ‘I got married at the age of 18 years old. But the income of my husband was very low. I tried with all my strengths to increase our income and the tailoring training has paved me way to increase our family income and help my husband.’

Asma Begum’s life and livelihood is going fine today due to her mental strength and willingness to get involved in income generating activities. Now she is very happy with her family. She expresses gratitude to BARCIK for linking her with the department of youth development and for providing facilitating support to her including other members of the organizations which she belongs.
